Indiana, PA – There were no students on board at the time, but a bus driver lost her life in Indiana County after a three-vehicle crash.

Police say that 22-year-old Darren Carr of Punxsutawney was behind the wheel of the pickup truck that struck the bus just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

He had been driving along Route 85 in Rayne Township when he failed to see another vehicle, driven by 48-year-old Lori Gaston of Home, had stopped to turn onto Dogwood Circle.

He rear-ended her vehicle, then crossed the center line and collided with a school bus driven by 34-year-old Sarah Slovinsky of Beyer, PA.

Slovinsky was entrapped and had to be freed by firefighters but was pronounced dead at the scene. Carr and Gaston were both uninjured.

The investigation is ongoing, as officials work to reconstruct the crash scene.
