Clearfield County, PA – After last week’s flooding in our area, the Clearfield County Department of Public Safety have been in Chester Hill Borough, assessing the damage on people’s homes.

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) assessments are a follow up to the survey that the Red Cross already did last Friday.

Some residents might qualify for a Small Business Administration Loan. In order to meet the requirements, 25 homes must have sustained major damage, which is defined roughly as one foot or more of water in the first floor living space. Flooded basements do not count.

If you home suffered damage from flooding and you need help to recover, contact your Red Cross or Salvation Army for advice on what programs are being offered where you live.
