Punxsutawney, PA – Reports are coming in about two different thefts late last month in near Punxsutawney.

On Aug. 21, someone stole three checkbooks, a diamond necklace, and ten rings from the home of 61-year-old Debra Lane on Clawson Street in Bell Township, Jefferson County. The items were worth a total of about $1,940.

The checkbook is from CNB Bank, without unused checks in the 600s. The diamond necklace was worth about $1,000. The rings were a mix of gold and silver, some with diamonds. They were worth about $1,000 but also had sentimental value as they were passed down from the woman’s family.


Another home was broken into sometime between Aug. 31 and Sept. 5 on Native Road in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County.

Several items were taken from 38-year-old Holly Grusky of Punxsutawney, including a black camera bag containing a Cannon Rebel t5 DSLR camera and a Sony Vixia HF R62 camcorder valued at a total of $1,000.
