DuBois, PA – Southern Airways Express, our carrier at the DuBois Regional Airport, says its August passenger count has reached 1,000 passengers for two consecutive months, representing the best performance at the airport in over four years.

The growth is coming shortly after Southern announced ticketing and baggage agreement with American Airlines in June.

Passengers can now book seamless travel from DuBois, Johnstown, and Altoona to any of American’s destinations across the globe. That means a single check in at the local airport for the entire trip and checked luggage that’s delivered all the way to the final destination.

Listen to the interview with Keith Sisson, Chief Marketing Officer for Southern Airways Express, which was recorded right before the American Airlines interline ticketing and baggage went into effect.

Since their agreement with American Airlines, the percentage of people using the DuBois airport has grown by 43 percent.
