Shanksville, PA – President Donald Trump is in Shanksville today, honoring the 40 people who lost their lives in the Flight 93 crash on September 11th.

New this year to the field where the hijacked plane crashed 17 years ago is the final part of the Flight 93 National Memorial, a large tower of wind chimes.

The Tower of Voices stands 93 feet tall and includes a unique wind chime for each of the 40 victims.

Construction on the $6 million project started in 2017 and was funded by a National Park Foundation grant. Only eight of the chimes are currently in use because crews wanted to make sure they were installed correctly. The rest of the chimes will be installed later this fall.

Today marks 17 years since the September 11th attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.

Visit the National Parks website for more information about the memorial.
