Brockway, PA – As the case moves forward against a Brookville man who is accused of abandoning two young girls on the side of the road in August, we’re learning more details about why he made the girls get out of the vehicle.
The girls were abandoned by 54-year-old Donald Skinner of Brookville on Aug. 8. Police say they were called out to a domestic dispute whenever Skinner had allegedly threatened a woman and thrown a beer at her during an argument about a log splitter.
They say he took the victim’s 5- and 6-year-old girls with him when he left, but then he told them to get out of the vehicle because the police were after him. A passing motorist spotted the girls around 10 a.m. on Sulgar Road in Pine Creek Township.
Skinner faces felony charges of endangering the welfare of children, plus misdemeanors for recklessly endangering another person.
Skinner remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on $70,000. He has a long history of other criminal offenses, including assault, drug use, DUI, and burglary.
