Clearfield, PA – A church in Clearfield is celebrating its 200th anniversary this Sunday.
The Presbyterian Church of Clearfield started with traveling ministers who went on horseback and sleigh to worship in people’s home in 1818.
Its first church building was erected in 1841, then a new stone church with a 150-foot steeple was built in 1867.
To celebrate 200 years of worship, the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield will hold bicentennial services at 10 a.m. this Sunday at their church on North Second Street. The service will be followed by a catered lunch.
