DuBois, PA – The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group is applying for a $50,000 grant through the state’s Keystone Communities Program.

If DuBois is chosen for the grant, the money could be used for upgrades and improvements to some of the storefronts downtown.

The owner of Brady Street Florist, Jennifer Jackson, recently bought the former First Commonwealth bank on the corner of Brady and Long streets. She says she would use the money for new windows, awnings, and signs.

More attractive storefronts could make people more likely to shop locally and could entice other stores to move into the area.

Downtown DuBois likely won’t know if they were chosen for the grant until at least September.
