West Mifflin, PA – A Pittsburgh Steelers-themed roller coaster is going to be replacing the recently closed Log Jammer at Kennywood.
The new ride is named The Steel Curtain and will break three records: World’s Tallest Inversion, North America’s Most Inversions, and Pennsylvania’s Tallest Rollercoaster. It’s expected to be open in the summer of 2019.
Kennywood’s engineers created a virtual point-of-view video of what it’s expected to feel and look like while riding in the front seat of the upcoming ride. Take the ride for a test drive before it’s even built!
In total, the ride will contain nine inversions, a 197-foot loop, 220 foot maximum height, 4,000 feet of track, and will reach speeds of 75 mph, according to the park.
The ride will be part of “Steelers Country,” a new area of the park that will contain the ride, a cafe, and other themed items.
