Mineral Springs, PA – An alligator was spotted in a Clearfield County sewage site recently.

One video on Facebook shows the alligator swimming around the Mineral Spring sewage pond on Friday.

Listen to the full interview with Sgt. Robert Dunbar from the North Central Region of the PA Fish and Boat Commission.

The Fish and Boat Commission attempted to catch the gator on Sunday but was unsuccessful.

The alligator was illegally released into the water by an unknown person.

The sewage treatment facility has hired an animal control expert to help capture it.

If you have any information about who might have released the alligator, please call the North Central Region office of the PA Fish and Boat Commission at 570-398-4744.
