Pennsylvania – It’s the longest day of the year and the official start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere… the Summer Solstice.

So why do we have seasons? It’s all due to the Earth’s axis.

The Earth sits at a slight tilt instead of perfectly upright in alignment with the sun. As Earth orbits the sun, different parts of the planet receive more sunlight.
