Punxsutawney, PA – Two Jefferson County women allegedly committed food stamp fraud by not reporting their changes in income to the Department of Human Services.
27-year-old Kayla Anderson and 33-year-old Wendy Rushnok, both of Punxsutawney, are facing fraud charges.
Investigators say that Anderson’s housemate, who is also the father of her child, became employed from July to December of 2017.
Rushnok became employed from September of last year to this April.
Both women failed to report the changes, knowing that it would affect their eligibility for benefits.
Both are facing a first-degree misdemeanor charge for fraud in obtaining food stamps or assistance.
Their preliminary hearings will be held on July 3.
