DuBois, PA – A man who had reportedly tried to blow up a DuBois home late last month is facing charges.

21-year-old Daniel Walton of Bradford allegedly got into a fight with family members at a home on Linden Avenue on May 26.

Police say he broke things in the house and resisted arrest.

They also found that the gas for the stove had been turned on and was filling the house. Walton confessed that he had turned on the gas to get someone’s attention.

Neighbors also say that Walton told them he was going to blow up the house and even tried to take a neighbor’s gas can. A piece of burning paper was found in the sink of the house, which could have caused the gas in the home to ignite.

The neighborhood on Linden Avenue had to be evacuated that day. 10 people from 5 different homes were told to leave the area while crews turned off the gas lines.

Walton is facing charges of criminal attempt of arson, risking a catastrophe, resisting arrest, burglary, criminal trespass, and theft by unlawful taking.

He remains in the Clearfield County Jail on $50,000 bail, awaiting his preliminary hearing this Friday.
