Clarion, PA – Clarion University has a new president, Dr. Dale-Elizabeth Pehrsson, starting July.
The PA State System of High Education selected Dr. Dale-Elizabeth Pehrsson, currently the dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Central Michigan University, to now take over at Clarion.
The board had been searching for someone to take the role as Clarion University president since late 2017 when Dr. Karen Whitney left to become the interim Chancellor of the PA State System.
Peter Fackler is serving as the university’s interim president. He’ll serve out his role until July when Pehrsson comes on board.
Dr. Pehrsson has more than 25 years of experience in higher education and has also worked in the healthcare field, as both a counselor and registered nurse.
Clarion University is hoping that this appointment of a permanent president will help provide some stability and foresight for the college’s future.
