Sandy Township, PA – The man who caused a series of arsons at abandoned mobile homes throughout the Sabula area has been caught.
23-year-old Brady Dillon Michael Burkett was seen outside of a mobile home along Timetobid Road just minutes before the most recent fire on Wednesday night.
Police interviewed Burkett and searched his home, which is also along Timetobid Road. They found evidence linking him to the seven arsons.
Burkett was interviewed at the Sandy Township Police Station and confessed to causing all of the fires in that neighborhood since Feb. 16, 2018.
There is no word on why he caused the fires.
Initial reports seem to show that Burkett was a firefighter at one point in time.
Burkett faces charges of arson and related offenses, burglary, criminal mischief, recklessly endangering another person, and criminal trespass.

** February 16, 2018 – Wood frame shed and occupied mobile home of Joan Cameroni at 27 Timetobid Road
** February 16, 2018 – Vacant mobile home at 19 Timetobid Road
** March 30, 2018 – Vacant mobile home at 19 Timetobid Road (previously damaged on Feb. 16)
** April 11, 2018 – Vacant mobile home at 19 Timetobid Road (previously damaged on Feb. 16 and March 20)
** April 18, 2018 – Vacant mobile home at 120 Judge Road
** May 1, 2018 – Vacant mobile home at 27 Phillips Creek Road
** May 30, 2018 – Vacant mobile home at 31 Timetobid Road’
‘There were no injuries, but one fire engine was damaged while fighting the fire on May 30. A damage estimate for the vehicle and the total amount of property damage is not yet available.
The investigation continues. Additional arrests are possible if police find that other people were involved.
Residents in the area should remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
