Reynoldsville, PA – The body of a Reynoldsville man was found in Sandy Lick Creek yesterday afternoon.
38-year-old Nathaniel Nalder had last been seen by his mother on Friday, and several search and rescue teams had been looking for him on Monday after his boots and hat were discovered on the creek’s shore near Water Street.
A kayaker found Nalder’s body in Sandy Lick Creek about a half mile west of Reynoldsville, around 5 p.m. Monday. Curwensville Water Rescue recovered the body around 6:20, about 2.4 miles downstream from where his boots and hat were found.
The death has been ruled as accidental, but an autopsy is scheduled to help determine what might have been contributing factors.
No funeral arrangements have been announced yet. We ask that you remain respectful of the family during this difficult time.
Throughout the search and investigation, state police were assisted by Reynoldsville Police, Reynoldsville Fire Department, Reynoldsville Ambulance, the Jefferson County Coroner, Curwensville Water Rescue, Pine Creek Fire Department, Sykesville Fire Department, DuBois Fire Department, Brookville Fire Department and Sandy Creek Township/Sabula Fire Department.
