Pine Creek Township, PA – A woman and two babies were injured in a three-vehicle rear-end crash Wednesday afternoon on State Route 28 in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when 30-year-old Erika Yates of DuBois became distracted and hit the back of a car driven by 29-year-old Jazmine Kunes of Ridgway.

Kunes then bumped into the back of another car driven by 32-year-old Thomas Byerly of Brookville.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt or was in a safety seat.

Yates, the original driver who started the chain reaction, was taken to Brookville Hospital for minor injuries.

An infant boy and a 3-year-old boy in Kunes’ vehicle also were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Yates is being charged with a traffic citation.
