Burnside Township, PA – Schools nationwide are feeling on edge before the end of school year, especially in Clearfield County after a shooting threat.
A 15-year-old and 17-year-old boy at the Harmony Area School District near Westover reportedly made threats last Friday, saying that they would bring guns and conduct a mass shooting on the last day of school.
Police came to interview the boys and anyone who had heard the threats. Officers are continuing to investigate, and additional security has been added.
The threat at Harmony School District was made the same day that an 11-year-old boy in the Punxsutawney School District reportedly threatened to bring a gun to Mapleview Elementary and shoot his teacher. In that case, police found that the threats were unfounded but still came to the school on Monday just as a precautionary measure.
