Clearfield County, PA – A Woodland man who is accused of taking tools from a local business is the new Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week.

49-year-old James McGonigal of Woodland is wanted for failure to appear in court earlier this month on felony charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, and theft by deception.

In November of 2017, someone had purchased used tools from McGonigal for $400. However, when he checked the serial numbers, he discovered that they had been reported as stolen from W.W. Engine in Cooper Township.

McGonigal originally hid underneath his mobile home when police came to interview him, but he was found. He eventually admitted that he had stolen the tools to sell them. He said he needed money to pay fines so he wouldn’t go back to jail.

Jame McGonigal is a 49-year-old white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with blue eyes and brown hair.

If you know where McGonigal is, please call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-376-4700. All calls are confidential. You can also make an anonymous tip online at
