Clearfield County, PA – A Philipsburg man has been sentenced for bringing large amounts of marijuana into our area.
29-year-old Matthew Rosenbarker pleaded guilty to felony charges of the manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
He was sentenced to 90 days to a year in jail, plus three years of consecutive probation.
The case dates back to a traffic stop in May of 2016 when Rosenbarker was found with six pounds of marijuana in his vehicle. Officers made the traffic stop after they received a tip that the man was likely returning from a drug run.
Rosenbarker had been living and working in Pittsburgh at the time. Investigators say he would make frequent trips back to Clearfield County with marijuana and is thought to be a major source for the drug in our area.
Although Rosenbarker’s defense attorney had originally asked for his client to be put into an intermediate punishment program for lesser offenses, his chances of that were shot down when Rosenbarker didn’t arrive on time for his court hearing.
