Perry Township, PA – A Brookville man is in jail after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and then trying to stab the responding police officer with a pen.

33-year-old Nathaneal Dinger reportedly went to his ex-girlfriend’s home on Huffman Road in Perry Township on Sunday morning.

The victim says that a neighbor called her at work to let her know that Dinger was taking items from the victim’s home and putting them in his car. Police were called to the home.

When officers attempted to handcuff Dinger, he allegedly became angry, grabbed a pen that fell from the trooper’s pocket, and swung it at the trooper’s neck and face. Another neighbor intervened and helped take the pen from Dinger’s hand.

The victim says she had originally told Dinger to come collect some of his belongings that she allowed him to store there, but she told Dinger that she didn’t want him in her house without her being there.

The items that he was putting in his vehicle reportedly did not belong to him.

The victim also told police that it had been 9 years since she and Dinger had even been in a relationship. She says he had never lived with her at the Huffman Road home.

Dinger was arrested and charged with felonies for aggravated assault and burglary, as well as misdemeanors of simple assault, resisting arrest, defiant trespass, and theft.

Unable to post $50,000 monetary bail, he remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail. Dinger’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 15.
