Lawrence Township, PA – People in Lawrence Township, near Clearfield, won’t be allowed to have any outdoor fires until at least May 15.

Because more brush fires have been popping up in the area, Lawrence Township supervisors have decided on a burn ban until they meet two weeks from now to talk about the issue again.

Until then, residents could get fined for any outdoor fires… $25 for the first offense, $50 for the second, and $100 for the third time.

You should always check with your specific township before you do any outdoor burning. Ask about yearlong rules and any bans or guidelines that might currently be under effect.

Even if you are not in an area currently under a burn ban, please be careful when burning anything outdoors. Never leave the fire unattended, don’t use accelerant to make the fire larger or burn faster, and make sure that the embers are completely extinguished when you are done.
