Penfield, PA – Paving at the intersection of Route 255 and 153 in the Penfield area is expected to begin on Monday, April 30.

Crews will be working on the bridge over Wilson Run and for about another 900 feet north of the intersection.

Crews will be working during daylight hours, and flaggers will enforce alternating traffic patterns. The paving should take about a week and will last until May 7. All work is weather and schedule dependent. If you travel through the intersection of Route 255 and 153 in Penfield, expect delays.

This is the last phase of a project started last year that included roadway milling and paving, installation of new inlets, structure repairs, pavement markings and new traffic lines, and installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps at the intersection.

Drivers are reminded to be alert for flaggers in and near the roadway, use caution through work zones, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.

To help make decisions about travel, motorists are encouraged to “Know Before You Go” by checking conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 850 traffic cameras.
