Curwensville, PA – A missing diabetic 62-year-old Curwensville man has been located and is home safe again.

Police say they are not releasing the man’s name out of respect to him and his family.

Family members were concerned that he might be in trouble because he relies on insulin but did not have his medication with him.

A K-9 response team helped search for the man on Wednesday. They picked up a scent that led to the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, but crews stopped the search for the night around 8 p.m. Wednesday after not finding anyone.

Several fire companies, the Curwensville Borough Police, Northwest Central PA Emergency Response Group, and the Elkland Search and Rescue team worked on the recovery efforts.
