Pennsylvania – This time of the year is perfect chance to clean up your social media.

A study from Social Media Today says that the average person spends nearly 2 hours a day using social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. Teens were shown to spend up 9 hours a day using it!

That adds up to more than 5 years of social media during your lifetime. So if you’re going to spend that much time online, make sure you’re spending it seeing the things and the people that you really enjoy.

Listen to the full interview about how to “spring clean” your social media with tech expert Jennifer Jolly.

Jennifer Jolly suggests first clear out your old groups, then move on to deciding if there are any friends on your list who you don’t know or don’t really talk to.

You should also double check your privacy settings. You can customize who can see your posts on Facebook and who can contact you. Also review your “third party apps” and make a note of which programs can access your Facebook account. Delete any that you don’t recognize or that you don’t use anymore.

It’s also a good time to delete or untag any photos of you that are not flattering or that don’t show you in a professional way.
