Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania House of Representatives has worked together to approve a bipartisan package of legislation that would equip students with the technical and career skills that they need to thrive as they enter the workforce.
Listen to remarks from Representative Dave Reed, a Republican from nearby Indiana County.
The package of bills is the result of hearings held and data gathered from 2015 to 2016 by the Select Subcommittee on Technical Education and Career Readiness.
Members of the House Education Committee, which worked to approve the package, say that it’s designed to promote technical education options for students and fight the perception that people only go to a trade school if they can’t make it into a college. It takes all kinds of skills to make the economy work, and this is one step towards that.
