Brockway, PA – The Brockway school system is holding a district-wide ponytail donation event on May 21 to provide hair for wigs.

The ponytails will be gathered to make wigs for people with cancer or other ailments that cause hair loss.

Superintendent Dan Hawkins praised the staff members involved, Kristen Sholes and Andrea Oknefski.

Brockway Area school board agreed to have Kane Innovations come in and do a security screen project to improve the school’s safety features.

Kane Innovations developed a plan that will cost the district $25,800.  The district also awarded the parking lot repair project to Jefferson Paving for $108,000.

The board also approved setting 2018 graduation ceremonies for Sunday, May 27, at 1 p.m.
