Brookville, PA – An old Brookville Borough Police vehicle will make one last trip through town during the Laurel Festival in June before it gets sold for scrap metal.

The Laurel Festival was recently revived by volunteers after Brookville had planned to take a break from celebrating the festival due to the lead coordinator’s illness.

A steering committee has been formed by members of the fire company to jump-start the festival. The previous Laurel board and president have agreed to pass leadership onto new members and assist wherever needed. So far, numerous individuals have come forward proposing several new events that may see the festival returning to a week-long event.

Brookville’s fire company is also expecting to receive a new fire truck this Saturday while selling its old one to another fire department in Arkansas.
