Clarion, PA – We’re getting the details on what caused a crash that shut down a portion of Interstate 80 in Clarion County on Thursday.
It started when one tractor-trailer rear-ended another around 2:20 Thursday afternoon, causing both of the trucks to spill their cargo. Eastbound traffic was blocked for about three hours near mile marker 65 in Clarion.
The traffic spread all the way to mile marker 70. Traffic was diverted toward Route 322, which caused other local roadways to backup as well.
35-year-old Robert Wolf of Heritage was driving the tractor-trailer that rear-ended another tractor-trailer driven by 41-year-old Don Boatwright of Texas. Both drivers had been wearing their seatbelts and were not injured.
