Reynoldsville, PA – A man who was found with a credit card that was stolen from a Reynoldsville man is now facing theft charges.

The unnamed victim reported to police that he believed that 22-year-old John Steele of Indiana had taken his card while Steele was staying at his home for a few days in February.

When police found Steele and asked to see inside his wallet, they found the black Mastercard that had been taken. Steele told police he must have grabbed it by accident when he was gathering his things.

In the time since the card was reported as stolen, there were six unauthorized purchases, totaling $327.24.

Steele was charged with a misdemeanor for receiving stolen property and a summary charge for driving without a license.

Steele was unable to post $5,000 bail and remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 28.
