Indiana, PA – It was a tragic weekend in nearby Indiana County after two separate domestic disturbances left two people dead.

Around 2:45 early Saturday morning, a Blairsville man was fatally shot after breaking into a home in which he had recently lived.

48-year-old Stacy Arnold Livingston was shot by one of the five family members who were home at the time.

Police say that Livingston had two Protection From Abuse orders recently filed against him, and he had been evicted from the home.

The person who fired the shot, who remains unnamed, was interviewed by police and was later released with no charges filed.

In the second fatality over the weekend in Indiana County, an argument at a home near Indiana turned into a deadly stabbing.

Police responded to the home around 8:15 Saturday morning.

66-year-old Daniel Zelenski was pronounced dead at the scene, and his wife 59-year-old Brenda Zelenski remains in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

During a press conference to update the public on the investigations, police officers were recognized for their quick response.

Because manpower was stretched thin due to the first early morning shooting, departments had to work as a team to handle both incidents.
