Ramey, PA – Fire crews across our area are in mourning after the death of a young firefighter in Ramey, Clearfield County.

Assistant Fire Chief Andrew Fundack passed away Wednesday morning surrounded by family at his home after a battle with cancer.

Fundack began his career with the fire company at the age of only 14, and he became one of the youngest assistant chiefs in the county at 25. He was also president of the fire company.

If you’d like to pay your respects, the viewing is this Sunday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral Home in Ramey.

Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9 until 11 a.m., followed by the funeral with a drive past the fire hall.

Fundack will be buried at Beulah Cemetery. The community and all firefighters are invited to attend.

Donations are being accepted in the memory of Andrew Fundack at the Ramey Fire Hall. The family also encourages donations to be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America to help others battling similar cancers.
