State College, PA – A rowdy weekend ended with the famous icon of Penn State University being damaged.
The ear on the Nittany Lion statue at Penn State’s main campus in State College was broken off sometime during the early “State Patty’s Day” celebrations.
Police say they’re not quite sure what happened at this point or if the damage was intentional or not.
Note: The above photo of the statue is from BEFORE the lion’s ear was broken over the weekend. However, you can tell where the ear had been broken previously and had been fixed. That same ear was damaged again this week, along the same crack where it had been broken before.
