Brookville, PA – Brookville Council last night swore in its new police chief.

Following an executive session, council approved an amended contract for the hiring of Vince Markle as Chief.

Markle, a long-time officer in the borough, has been serving as acting chief since former chief Jason Brown’s departure for a position in Florida.

After receiving his oath of office from mayor Dick Beck, council also approved Markle’s request to hire three part-time officers.

Council approved the appointment of Roger Shaw to the municipal authority and tax collector Sally Allgeier to the additional responsibility of tax assessor.

Discussion was also held on doing an appraisal of all industrial property in the borough and changing the frequency of council meetings. Both matters were tabled to council’s next meeting on March 6.
