Clearfield, PA – A Kylertown man who tried to smuggle drugs into the county jail while now be spending time in a state prison.

25-year-old Brandon Corman pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 1 to 3 years in prison for possession of a controlled substance as contraband.

Corman had been incarcerated at the Clearfield County Jail in October of 2016 when he was found with packets and straws filled with powdered Suboxone. He also admitted to trying to smuggle tobacco and snuff into the jail.

Corman told officials that he had been taking Suboxone for four years without a prescription and says he knows he should have just been honest with officers to begin with.

Although the offense took place in 2016, it can often take more than a year for cases to finally receive sentencing.

Corman will be placed in a state prison due to his prior criminal history and the fact that he was able to smuggle drugs into a smaller county jail.
