Pennsylvania – If you celebrated into the early hours of the morning after the Eagles’ victory, you might not realize that you’re still technically intoxicated.
It doesn’t matter if you slept, showered, or had a cup of coffee. The only thing that removes alcohol from your bloodstream is time.
Although everyone’s rate of metabolizing alcohol is slightly different, most people’s body will remove about one drink per hour. That means if you were celebrating heavily into the night, you could still wake up drunk.
Read the Pennsylvania laws regarding driving under the influence.
The legal blood alcohol content, or BAC, for driving in Pennsylvania is .008 percent. If you are caught driving with an BAC higher than that (or any BAC if you are under 21), you could face thousands of dollars in fines and legal fees or jail time. More importantly, you are a much worse driver when intoxicated, and you’re putting your life and the lives of others at risk.
If you suspect that you’re still under the influence, get a sober driver to take you where you’re going or consider taking the morning off.
