Gaskill Township, PA – One dog is dead and another is injured after a hunter shot at them because he felt threatened.

It happened on Jan. 14 around 4 p.m. at a piece of land along Schrock Lane in Gaskill Township, near Punxsutawney.

The owner of the dogs, an unnamed 46-year-old man, let them out of his barn to roam the property.

A 40-year-old man was hunting nearby when he says the dogs ran towards him while growling. Feeling threatened, he shot the two dogs, killing one and injuring the other.

State Police in Punxsutawney are continuing the investigation.
