DuBois, PA – After two years of negotiations, teachers at the DuBois Area School District finally have a new contract. The teachers had been working without a contract since July of 2016.

Administration and the teachers group couldn’t come to any agreement until now. Although the vote was not unanimous, the response was positive. Teachers say, although they didn’t get everything they were originally hoping for, the salaries have increased, along with the number of steps in the salary schedule.

Because there is a retirement incentive written into the contract, school officials are hoping that there will be few or no furloughs with the new middle school consolidation.

All 286 teachers within the DuBois Area School District will be affected by the agreement, and the contract will be in place until June of 2021.
