Ridgway, PA – Three people remain in the hospital after a fire early Thursday morning in Ridgway.

When crews arrived at the home along Grant Road just before 2 a.m., the house was already completely engulfed in flames.

Four people were inside the home when it caught fire. They were able to escape but were injured in the process.

The Ecklund family, including 57-year-old Chad, 48-year-old Tammy, and 27-year-old Brandon were all taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh with burns.

24-year-old Patrick Ecklund was taken to Penn Highlands Elk but later released.

Three firefighters and one paramedic also received minor injuries.

A damage estimate is not available yet, but we do know that the two-story wood frame home was a complete loss. The scene was cleared just after 5 a.m.

The cause is still under investigation, and anyone with information on how it might have started is asked to call State Police in Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
