Clearfield, PA – A Clearfield man has been sentenced for fighting with police officers after he fled from a hospital.

37-year-old Steven Allen pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months to one year in jail and two years consecutive probation. He faced charges of resisting arrest, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, and defiant trespass.

He was ordered to have a mental health assessment and attend anger management counseling. Allen must pay more than $5,300 in restitution and $400 in fines.

According to police, Allen had left Penn Highlands Clearfield early in the morning on Sept. 7 after he had been involuntary admitted to the hospital for a mental health check.

Allen was later found at an active construction site. He reportedly became combative, injuring at least one of the officers.
