A Jefferson County man has been jailed after he allegedly threatened to kill his wife during a domestic dispute in front of their two young children. Police were called out Tuesday after a concerned citizen had heard shouting and things being slammed around at the couple’s home near Corsica.

31-year-old Carson Clinger, Jr. is accused of choking his wife and throwing her to the ground several times, as well as threatening to shoot her. One of the two young children who were in the home at the time also told police that Clinger had threatened to kill his mother and told the family that he had a plan for how he would do it.

Clinger is in the Jefferson County Jail after failing to post $30,000 cash bail. He’s being charged with felony strangulation, along with misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and simple assault. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9.
