With the weather dropping into dangerously low temperatures, we want to remind you that if your house isn’t warm or if you don’t feel safe, tell someone. There are many places that are opening their doors to make sure that everyone stays warm. The Sigel Volunteer Fire Department is inviting people to warm up there if they need to over the next few days, and other fire companies are following suit. If you need a place to go, call your local churches, fire station, or police station. Hypothermia can start within just a few minutes of being outside or being in an unheated home when it is this cold.

If you need emergency assistance, you should always call 911. However, there are also numbers for non-emergency help for both Clearfield County and Jefferson County.

Jefferson County non-emergency number: 814-849-1617

Clearfield County non-emergency number: 814-765-5357
