Clearfield County, PA – Because of the extremely cold temperatures and strong winds, Meals on Wheels volunteers will not be delivering meals in Clearfield County today.

Seniors are encouraged to eat their shelf-stable Blizzard Box meal instead.

Terry Khoury from the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging says Meals on Wheels is about so much more than just the food that is delivered.

So because those volunteers will not be visiting local seniors, this is your chance to step up and do your part. If you have an elderly neighbor or if you live next to someone who lives alone or has a disability, check on them.

Knock on their door and make sure that, especially during these dangerously cold temperatures, their house is warm and they have running water and food. Who knows… you might make a new friend!
