New Bethlehem, PA – A Clarion County woman was killed in a head-on collision in Armstrong County Tuesday afternoon.
74-year-old Sheila Nair of New Bethlehem was driving along State Route 28/66 in Mahoning around 3:45 p.m. when she crossed into the other lane.
Police do not say whythey believe she lost control of the vehicle.
Nair’s Volkswagen Passat struck a Freightliner truck, driven by 53-year-old Kenneth Plyer of Kittanning. Nair was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s still unknown if Plyer was injured. State Route 28 in Armstrong County was closed for about 4 hours to clean up the crash.
There’s no word yet on Nair’s funeral services.
