Clearfield, PA – Nearly 150 local senior citizens will be given some thoughtful and helpful gifts to brighten their holiday through the Trees of Giving program. The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging paired up with Clearfield Borough Police to place trees in pharmacies, where people could choose tags that listed what local seniors wanted to get for Christmas.
Some seniors will also receive fuel assistance to help keep them warm throughout the winter.
This is the third year for the Trees of Giving program, and the response has grown with each year. Many donors brought extra gifts, filling the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging building with about 400 to 500 presents. Thank you to everyone who donated, and remember that you can volunteer with Area Agency on Aging all year long, not just during the holidays.
