DuBois, PA – If you’ve been out shopping, you’ve definitely seen them… They’re the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle bell ringers.

Major Jerry Stinson from the Salvation Army says that the volunteers are happy to brave the cold each year because they know it’s going to a great cause.

Some of the programs that the Salvation Army supports are the food bank, after school programs, adult learning programs and Christmas gifts for needy families.

Those red kettles have been getting fewer donations in recent years because people shop online more often and don’t carry as much cash with them. Make a point to put some cash in your pocket right now so you have it with you when you hear that bell and see that red kettle.
