Brookville, PA – Two men from New York state have been jailed after leading police on a 10-mile car chase through the Brookville area.

Around 2 a.m. Monday morning on I-80 between the Reynoldsville and DuBois exits, police attempted to pull over a Nissan Altima for a stolen registration plate.

22-year-old Ibrhima Dukaray of the Bronx briefly pulled over but fled in the car with his passenger, 21-year-old Alhaji Jatta, also from the Bronx.

The pair led police on a chase on Interstate 80 for about 10 miles before Dukaray finally lost control of the car when he attempted to flee down the Brookville exit ramp. The car hit a road sign before overturning.

Both men fled on foot but were later arrested. The car was determined to be stolen.

They are facing numerous charges, including felonies for receiving stolen property and fleeing or attempting to elude an officer.

They remain lodged in the Jefferson County Jail after failing to post $500,000 bail each. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for Dec. 18.
