DuBois, PA – Starting tonight and then continuing throughout the weekend, take a nostalgic journey with Anne of Green Gables at the Reitz Theater in DuBois.
It’s the story, originally written by L.M. Montgomery, of an imaginative and talkative girl who is adopted accidentally by a brother and sister on a farm.
In addition to the original story of Anne, director Andi Kohlepp wrote a special prologue to Anne’s story that will be performed beforehand.
Listen to the full interview on Connect FM with Andi Kolhepp and Debbie Wirths.
Because so many students tried out and because the role is so emotionally demanding, two girls have been chosen to play Anne Shirely, and they’ll take turns, each taking three performances.
Friday and Saturday’s shows start at 7:30, and there is a Sunday matinee at 2.
Come see the show on Dec. 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9 at 7:30 p.m. or on Dec. 3, 9, and 10 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $5 for kids under 5.
Want to support the Reitz Theater? There is a special dine-in day at Luigi’s Ristorante in DuBois on Sunday, Dec. 3. Come earn money for the theater from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. when Luigi’s will donate a portion of the day’s profits to the Reitz Theater. Some of the cast members of Anne of Green Gables will be in costume at Luigi’s throughout the day.
