DuBois, PA – An elderly woman who is accused of selling large amounts of marijuana pleaded guilty and was sentenced.
The lawyer for 70-year-old Laurel Poulson asked for leniency and suggested that she be placed on house arrest.
However, a jail employee testified that Poulson had not had any health issues while she had been incarcerated at the county jail and could continue to be housed there.
Poulson was sentenced to nine months to two years in jail, plus five years of probation. She allegedly sold marijuana to a confidential informant in January.
The informant says Poulson had six or seven pounds of marijuana delivered from Oregon every other week.
22-year-old Amber Jablonski of DuBois and Hazen McCartney are both also charged in the case.
