DuBois, PA – Your old coat could help someone stay warm this winter. Donate it to the Sunny 106 and Joe’s Cleaning and Alterations Coat Collection!
About 400 coats have already been donated this year. All you have to do is drop off the coat to the Joe’s Cleaning and Alterations shop on West Long Avenue in DuBois.
The coats stay local and are distributed through our area by the Salvation Army.
You don’t even have to worry if it’s not in perfect shape. They’ll clean each coat and make small repairs, such as sewing on buttons or patching tears.
Ted Fitzer, the shop’s co-owner, says its a way of giving back to the community and keeping families warm.
Joe’s Cleaning and Alterations has collected more than 4,000 coats within the past 15 years, and this year will likely bring that total to 5,000.
They’re hoping to have most of the coats in by this Saturday, but you can donate throughout winter. The sooner the get the coats, the sooner they can give them to the Salvation Army to help keep our neighbors warm!
